Anyway, I heard Rev's rehearsing with his John Cooper Clarke tribute band that night.
Variey?I doubt there's many going on both nights.

And whats with the Reverend dig? Didn't Ian ask them to support and Rev hasn't exactly kept his like for Ian quiet.

Reverend and the makers shit all over Big Arm.. Paul Ryder there or not.

Definitely a ploy to increase ticket sales.

Happy Mondays get the twang and sunshine underground and we get Big Arm

I know of loads going both nights mate.
I know of (off the top of my head) 11 going on Friday rather than Saturday to avoid watching RATM. Our aftershow is Friday too, and was deliberately Friday.

Errrr. No.
But as you ask;
McClure's a cock in my opinion, and the songs on his album are a pissy-pop shadow of their former self - of which I've made no bones about saying were astounding, and I still love.
I've said here and elsewhere, I really wanted this album, but it's bloody awful. Bandits is it's only redeeming factor IMO. I bought it, even after hearing how HCOW (one of my favourite tunes) had been butchered. My mistake.
No he hasn't kept his like for IB quiet - quiet the opposite. 'Stencil' pack encouraging people to spray paint and take photos & going on about Muhammed Ali, Bruce Lee, 'lions' and the whereabouts of 'ours' ..?
Jaysus..
Sorry - but I seen it all coming. And it's like hearing IB talk but through McClure's mouth.
A teensy bit crass and embarrassing.
Yes, I'm aware IB likes them/him, but I wonder if he heard the demo stuff and got into RATM 18 months ago, if he'd have the respect for him he does now after seeing McClure change from people's spokesperson to sycophantic lap-prophet?

Quite possibly.
But that's opinion, and makes nooooooooooooo fuckin' odds to me whatsoever.

Bullshit. More like IB wanted to give them a slot so shoehorned them into an already confirmed tour schedule - hence them not playing both nights, yeah?

Sorry the World doesn't revolve around you and your wants.

It's well worth a visit if you can get there before 11pm or you'll be queuing for hours.

You do need to watch the door staff. Don't think I've ever seen any trouble in there, not that kind of place, so they like to start it themselves. Shit bags , the lot of 'em!

Cheer up, Adz. Could be worse man.
The world doesn't revolve around me and my wants? I'm going with about 15 of my mates to the friday gig and not one is happy about Big Arm supporting instead of RATM.

Ian is well known on the gig circuit for having distinctly average support acts - fact. You obviously love the guy but admit it their poor. A bunch of kids as main support at Preston? OK its commendable to gig them a chance but not as main support. I've seen Ian about 9 or 10 times now and the only decent supports I can remember were The Dead 60s (which was part of carling live so probably nothing to do with Ian) and Aziz.

Yeah we pay our dough to so the great man.. but I go to about 30 gigs a year and so far better warm up acts regularly.

As for your RATM comments.. the production is varied but to say its been butchered is a bit strong. HCOTW is far better and Open your window is quality. I've followed them since their second ever gig and seen them transform from an average live act to a top one.

Lisa.. yes I have seen Big Arm play and they are poor. There's at least five better 'new' manc bands around than them.

Fact, yeah?
Source?

South were an amazing support band, as were The Burn and Blue Sky Research.
I won't 'admit' anything? Get fucked.
I've lost count how many times I've seen Ian, but I've seen about half a dozen support bands - because I don't go to see support bands.
It makes no odds to me who supports him - I'm always in the bar.

Who gives a fuck about the support? Think we'll be in the Britons Protection! Now there's a decent boozer and it's just across the road.

Well believe it or not there are a lot of people who want to see support bands. Some of my favourite acts I got into because I saw them supporting people.

And no, the fact that Ian always gives slots to his mates doesn't nark me.. when they're decent (which is a rariety).
