Just booked.
Might have some of that, found a slightly cheaper one close to the venue, nearer the beach with a rooftop swimming pool but tiny rooms.

Hmmmmm.

Not many rooms left, I've booked a double at 130 euros for two nights.

I always use www.splendia.com for city breaks. Not always the cheapest but of a good standard.

Unfortunately not Matt. Just the return to Manchester on Jet2 on the Sunday is 250 quid!

Probably because of the drip feeding of dates, there'll be people who've not already had to pay over the odds for HP tickets but then spent small fortunes on trips to Sweden for example, expecting that to be the first gig, only for earlier dates to be put on sale later.

Have you seen the price of tickets? Think they are taking the piss and forgetting who the roses appeal to and yeah it may be the first gig, for now, but folk like me are spending 300 all in on heaton park, same month, where are we meant to find money for it?

Locals will eventually buy out the tickets but Spanish economy is wrecked!

I don't agree with sell out tags and so forth but I paid 15 quid to watch Ian nail his own tunes and a few roses numbers a few years back and like most folk I had more social cash available back then!

Fair comment. Personally I don't mind the price. I would rather pay 50 to see the band in a smallish venue, rather than a large festival where it will probably hard to see the band properly.
Agreed also that Heaton Park wiped most if us out finacially, but I was still can't help be a little suprised.

Also on the ticket price front, unfortunately it seems to have gone the way of football - one team puts up the price and they all follow suit.
Happy Mondsys 45, Paul Weller 50, Radiohead 60 etc...
I suppose with poor record sales it's how they make their money.

First gigs The Roses did in a long time in 95 were away from the UK, tickets were 35 quid on top of your fare and hotel. The warmup gigs for Spike were done away from the UK, bout 25 quid a pop. There's people going to Heaton all the way from Japan, the US, Australia, 75000 people per day at an all day concert. Not all of these people are minted but making the effort. You don't see them whingeing over prices, I thought the price was quite reasonable considering the prices other things like this cost in Europe. Seeing The Roses in Barcelona in front of 2500 people. Hmmmmm. Prince charges 150 quid to play the piano in front of a thousand. Always sells out, no one forces anyone to go. Seeing the Roses do one of their first (if not the first) in Barcelona, for me it's worth the money and the effort.

Maybe 55 euros seems a bit steep, you'd pay more to see a lot of bands that constantly tour and you'd be stood in some soulless hangar with extortionate beer prices and wanky security. Great.

I'm lucky enough to afford this trip, I don't think The Roses or the Benaccasim arrangers are forgetting about who they appeal to (40 something family men in full employment looking for something to do...?), it's always been like this, I've paid through the nose when I didn't have a penny back then and I'll pay through the nose now. IT'S THE FUCKING ROSES.
