Spike Island footage

was flickin thru utube last night. i input Stone Roses documentary and found footage of Spike Island that lasted well over 10 mins. it was good quality shot from different angles. so, my question is, is there more footage of the Spike Island gig out there?

ps, sorry for opening new thread, but couldnt find a Spike Island thread.

There was some footage on extras on Made Of Stone but it was poor, showed the band coming on stage some of Adored and Fools Gold, but that was about it I think.

Various Spike Island sound check and crowd pre gig vids floating about. Also one out and about in Widnes pre gig, some guy driving about in his car blasting out tunes. Good to see for the haircuts and threads we used to knock about in.

As for the full Spike Island video, need to speak to Mick about that. !!!!!!!!

I thought the consensus was no full gig footage existed? Some boy posted the 10 minute clip years ago on the basis of having more but it's never surfaced?

The bounce for I think it was Adored on the Made Of Stone DVD at Spike Island is amazing.

The story goes that gig was to be filmed by Granada but Gareth Evans asked for more money, Granada wouldn't pay, so no filming.

Read somewhere that Japanese TV crew were filming as well.

There were definately TV cameras there on top of various portacabins.

Who knows what's happened to the footage, could someone be hanging onto it waiting for ? Would have thought that anything that exists would have come out by now.

Good point Mick, if it was available it would've been released around the gigs few years ago. Probably lost or ruined in a damp unit somewhere

Is it not better like this ?? No footage ??

It would be analysed to death and be nowhere near as good as some of you remember.

Not so sure, I think the footage on Made of Stone extras is good, certainly sounds a lot better than it did at the time.

Glasgow Green footage the week after, now that really is the Holy Grail.

Up there with the best days days of my life. Slam Dj's, everyone loved up, sweat pissing down from the top of the tent. And the roses the best on top form.

That was the pinnacle.

Did Slam warm up for the Roses at Glasgow Green??

That would've been immense, should've repeated it for the comeback. Crispy Bacon and Positive Education just before the Roses came on, perfect

Dave Haslam and Stuart and Orde from Slam as I remember. Yeah band went back to Sub Club after gig, couple of mates of mine stayed over in Glasgow and meet them in there.
